I’ve been using a mind palace since my teens and never thought it odd until I saw tumblr’s reaction to Sherlock’s use of the technique. A couple days ago I found myself building an extension in order to cram for my philosophy…

There are simpler versions, too, but this is certainly more fun. Anything structural (spatial) can work, too- one of my high school teachers taught us to “stack” things, which was tons of fun and felt like building every time. (never lost anything, because it would fall over if one of the bits was missing).
Of course, wade uses this to memorize massive sonnets just to irritate me. He has a library where each book takes him to a new “palace” for the academic stuff he has to remember. Show off.
